A demolition drive by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) at Turkman Gate turned violent after rumors spread that the Faiz-e-Ilahi mosque was being targeted. The Delhi Police clarified that the mosque remained untouched and only illegal structures, including a banquet hall and diagnostic center, were removed on High Court orders. A mob pelted stones, injuring police personnel. AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi questioned the timing and intent of the drive, while Samajwadi Party MP Mohibullah Nadvi was also seen at the spot.
