Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh said the MCD acted as per court orders during the anti-encroachment drive near Faiz-e-Elahi Masjid at Turkman Gate. He said there was illegal occupation on Ramlila Ground, where a banquet hall was being run.
The Mayor said all illegal structures will be removed. He added that while the government works for public welfare, some people mislead the public and spread rumours, which can lead to incidents like stone-pelting. He said such incidents will not stop the drive, as the aim is to keep Delhi clean.
