Türkiye has confirmed that a ballistic missile launched from Iran entered Turkish airspace but was neutralised by NATO air and missile defence assets deployed in the eastern Mediterranean. Türkiye stated there were no casualties or injuries from the incident. In an official statement, Türkiye warned that ‘all necessary measures will be taken decisively and without hesitation against any threat directed at our country’s territory and airspace’. This marks the second missile intercepted by Turkey’s air defence systems. Last week, when reports suggested Iran had targeted Türkiye, Iran denied the claim. The incident underscores the expanding theatre of conflict in West Asia, with more countries being drawn into the ongoing war, now in its tenth day.
