US President Donald Trump has threatened to raise tariffs on India for its continued purchase of Russian oil. The External Affairs Ministry stated that the European Union’s 2024 trade with Russia included 67.5 billion euros in goods and 17.2 billion euros in services, significantly more than India’s total trade with Russia. New Delhi emphasized that Russian oil is crucial for its energy security and pointed out that the US continues to import Russian uranium, palladium, fertilizers, and chemicals.
