US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Tehran on Truth Social, stating that a ‘whole civilization will die tonight’ as a critical deadline approaches. The warning comes amidst massive military escalation, with the US and Israel targeting at least 10 major Iranian rail and bridge heads to degrade war-fighting capabilities. Reports indicate that US strikes on Kharg Island, which handles 90% of Iran’s oil exports, have caused significant power outages and pushed crude prices past $115 a barrel. While US Vice President JD Vance expressed confidence in receiving a response before the deadline, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian responded by stating 14 million Iranians have signed up to give their lives for the nation. Tehran has reportedly suspended all diplomatic and indirect channels of communication with the United States, demanding reparations and an end to strikes on Hezbollah and Houthi forces as preconditions for peace. Iranian officials have further threatened to block the Bab al-Mandab and Strait of Hormuz if energy infrastructure is attacked.
