US President Donald Trump stated that American forces will leave Iran within two to three weeks, claiming that regime change has already occurred. Speaking about rising gas prices reaching four dollars, Trump said prices will tumble down once the US leaves Iran. He claimed that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei is ‘no longer with us’ and asserted that the US is now dealing with ‘much more rational’ people. Trump stated his primary goal was to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, which he says has been attained. He mentioned ongoing military strikes on missile-making facilities and bridges, stating it will take Iran 15 to 20 years to rebuild. Trump also said the US will not be responsible for protecting the Strait of Hormuz after withdrawal, suggesting countries like France and China should fend for themselves. He indicated negotiations are ongoing and a deal might be reached before complete withdrawal.
