US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will meet with Guatemalan ministers on Wednesday (5 February) as part of a visit of Latin America focusing on migration, security cooperation, and opposing Chinese influence in the area. Rubio is in Guatemala on a 24 hour visit. Discussions will also focus on tackling transnational criminal organizations and drug traffickers, as well as building economic connections to promote hemispheric prosperity. Earlier this week, Rubio visited El Salvador to meet with President Nayib Bukele, and he declared that Bukele had agreed to accept deportees from the United States regardless of nationality.
