The threat comes as Iran fortifies Kharg Island with personnel, missiles, and mines to deter a potential amphibious assault. Concurrently, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that a strike in Bandar Abbas killed Commodore Ali Reza Tansiri, the naval commander for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that American forces have destroyed over 90% of Iran’s missile capabilities and that Iran is seeking a deal.
