United States Ambassador to India and Special Envoy to South and Central Asia, Sergio Gore, outlined significant advancements in the U.S.-India partnership during his first public remarks at the India Today Conclave 2025. Gore announced that a critical minerals agreement is nearing finalization and highlighted a recent bilateral trade agreement, which he noted was completed in about a year. The ambassador attributed the trade deal’s success to the personal friendship between President Trump and Prime Minister Modi. Furthering economic ties, Gore pointed to Micron’s semiconductor assembly facility in Gujarat as a key collaboration between American companies and Indian talent. He underscored India’s strategic importance, explaining that his Special Envoy role is based in Delhi for the first time, a move reflecting India’s central position in the Indo-Pacific and the future of South and Central Asia. The expanding partnership also includes cooperation in energy, artificial intelligence (AI), and defense manufacturing through co-production and joint research.
