This comes as Americans face soaring fuel prices with oil hitting record highs, and NATO allies refuse to join the war. Trump states the war could end ‘within maybe two weeks’ after ensuring Iran has no nuclear weapons. Iran’s spokesperson quickly rebutted, saying there is no question of ceasefire. The Strait of Hormuz remains choked for over a month, impacting global oil supplies with China depending on 38% of its oil from the strait, India 13%, and other Asian nations similarly affected. Trump’s address to the nation is awaited globally. In India, Prime Minister Modi chaired a Cabinet Committee on Security meeting to review interventions across agriculture, fertilizers, shipping, aviation and logistics to mitigate emerging challenges from the West Asia conflict.
