Former US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran was attempting to reconstitute its nuclear weapons program at a new site after the United States obliterated three Iranian nuclear facilities. Trump stated that Iran had shifted to a different kind of site, protected by granite, and was digging deeper for additional protection. He claimed the regime could not return to the three sites that were destroyed. Trump further alleged that Iran was simultaneously building conventional ballistic missiles that threatened US overseas bases and could potentially reach American homeland. According to Trump, Iran had started the process of going much deeper to protect the new site whilst rapidly developing its missile capabilities. The claims represent Trump’s assessment of Iran’s nuclear ambitions and alleged response to previous US military action against Iranian nuclear infrastructure.
