The government action is based on a detailed report suggesting violations of FCRA norms. Following this, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) may also initiate an investigation into potential violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), which could lead to questions of money laundering. Sonam Wangchuk has denied all charges against him. ED sources have indicated that action against the NGO could be taken soon, escalating the scrutiny on its financial activities.
