Ten months after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, the family of victim Santosh Jagdale continues to wait for the Maharashtra government to fulfil its promise of employment. His daughter, Asawari Jagdale, expressed her frustration, stating, ‘They should have provided me the job a long back. But it’s more than 10 months and every month I was assured that by next 15 days it will be done.’ Despite the government announcing a ₹50 lakh compensation and a job, the appointment remains pending. While officials at the Pune Municipal Corporation discussed a Class 2 administrative post due to her MBA qualification, the file is currently awaiting state ministry approval. Pune Municipal Commissioner Navalkishore Ram noted that while rules typically allow for Class 3 or 4 positions, Asawari’s case is being treated as a special matter for a higher-grade post. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has reportedly directed officials to expedite the process to ensure justice for the family.
