Top Maoist Commander Ganesh Uike Killed In Odisha Joint Operation; Rs 1.1 Cr Bounty On Head

In a major breakthrough for internal security, top Maoist commander Ganesh Uike was killed in a joint operation in Odisha’s Rampa forest. Senior Journalist Jitendra Bahadur Singh reports that Uike, who carried a bounty of Rs 1.1 crore, was neutralised along with five other Naxals by the Odisha SOG, CRPF, and BSF. The operation in the Kandhamal-Ganjam border belt also led to the recovery of arms. Highlighting the government’s resolve, Singh notes, ‘The Home Ministry has said that the Naxal war will be completely ended by March 31, 2026.’ The report details the strategic blow to the insurgency.
