The ongoing confrontation between Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi and the M.K. Stalin-led government has intensified over alleged delays in bill approvals. The Raj Bhavan issued a strong rebuttal, stating, ‘certain unfounded and factually incorrect allegations have been levelled in the public domain against the Governor of Tamil Nadu.’ According to a press release from the Governor’s office, 81% of the bills passed by the assembly have been given assent, with most cleared within three months. The statement further clarified that 13% of bills were reserved for the President’s consideration, with a significant portion of these referrals made at the state government’s own recommendation. This data was presented to counter the narrative that the Governor is deliberately obstructing legislative work, framing the accusations as baseless and misleading.
