TN CM Stalin's Surprise Silambam Skills During Tenkasi Visit Leave Students Impressed | India Today

This special report highlights a moment from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin’s visit to Tenkasi, where he interacted with girl students. The anchor introduced the visuals, stating, ‘I am, however, going to give you these images of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin in Tenkasi today, in a moment of interaction with girls students actually trying his hand at slumber.’ The footage shows the Chief Minister witnessing a performance of Silambam, a traditional Tamil martial art, and then trying his hand at twirling the bamboo staff himself. Silambam is a weapon-based martial art originating from Tamil Nadu that uses a staff, mentioned in ancient Sangam literature. The Chief Minister’s impromptu participation in the cultural display took place while he was in the district for official engagements, including inspecting the construction of a house for a meritorious student under a government scheme.
