The Supreme Court has directed the constitution of an independent Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the Tirupati Laddu issue. The state SIT will be substituted by a new SIT, which will include members from the central agency, state, and the Food Safety Authority. The new SIT will have two officers from CBI, two from Andhra Pradesh Police Cadre and one from SSI.
