The Hubble Space Telescope has captured a spectacular view of AFGL-5180, a nebula located 4,900 light-years away in the constellation Gemini. At its heart, a young star is forming, lighting up the gas cloud and carving out new cavities as it grows. Visible beams of light from the star indicate its active development. This nebula lies within the Gem OB1 cloud complex, a region rich in star formation. In another stunning image, Hubble also revealed UGC 12588—a spiral galaxy resembling a cosmic cinnamon bun due to its smooth, circular center.
