Modi emphasized that the entire research, development, and production of this defence system will be carried out within India, harnessing the talent of the country’s youth and reinforcing the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India). The Sudarshan Chakra mission aims to provide a multi-layered security framework integrating advanced surveillance, interception, and cyber protection across land, air, and sea domains. Expected to function similarly to Israel’s Iron Dome system, it will safeguard key military and civilian infrastructures, ensuring that every citizen feels protected by a continuously expanding and modernizing national security shield through 2035.
