A political war of words has erupted in Tamil Nadu between actor Vijay and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over comments about the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Vijay described the BJP-RSS association as a "slave mentality" and accused the organizations of cornering minorities. In a sharp rebuttal, Union Minister L. Murugan stated that the actor must first learn about the principles of the RSS before commenting on it. Murugan defended the RSS as a hundred-year-old organization engaged in social work. He said, "Vijay has to learn from RSS."
