Telugu Film Industry Braces For Shutdown Over 30% Wage Hike Row | India Today News

The Telugu film industry is set to face a complete shutdown of shooting activities after the Telugu Film Employees’ Federation announced a strike over a wage dispute. The federation, which includes backend workers such as light boys and make-up artists, is demanding a 30% wage increase. The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has condemned the call for a strike, stating, "The Federation is unilaterally demanding a 30% wage hike. As per the existing laws, we are already paying significantly more than the minimum wages to both skilled and unskilled workers." The Chamber has advised producers against individually agreeing to the demand. With productions worth thousands of crores on the line, the industry faces a potential deadlock that could bring filming to a standstill in the next 48 hours if a resolution is not reached. #tollywood #telugucinema #filmstrike #itwebvideos #wagehike #wagedispute #filmindustry #tollywoodstrike #filmproducers #filmworkers #behindthescenes #shootshutdown #breakingnews #cinemanews #filmfederation #tollywoodnews
