Two political leaders from the Dalit community have been murdered in Telangana, causing tension in Hyderabad and Medak. In Hyderabad’s Malkapet area, CPI leader Chandu Rathod was shot dead by assailants who first threw chili powder at him. His wife suspects a long-standing enmity with another individual might be the cause. In a separate incident in Medak district, the bullet-riddled body of a Congress Dalit leader, Anil, was found. This case, initially considered a mishap, took a turn when investigations revealed he was shot. According to the police, "two cars that followed him, stopped him en route and shot him dead and then fled the scene." Police are investigating all possible angles in both killings which have sent shockwaves through the region.
