Telangana HC: Muslim Women Can Initiate Divorce Without Husband's Approval | India Today News

The Telangana High Court has ruled that Muslim women can initiate divorce without their husband’s approval, stating that religious bodies only serve an advisory role. In a separate development, Chief Justice of India Gawai emphasized that the Constitution is supreme, not Parliament, and all government branches work under the Constitution. The CJI’s statement comes amid ongoing discussions about the relationship between the judiciary, executive, and legislature.
