Telangana Govt Pushes 42% BC Reservation; Minister Accuses BJP Of Delay | India Today News

Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar details the government’s push for 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BC) in local bodies, education, and employment. He states the policy is based on empirical data collected from villages and has been passed as bills in the state assembly before being sent to the Governor, who then forwarded them to the President. Prabhakar accuses the BJP-led central government of a conspiracy, alleging they are deliberately stalling the process by not granting an appointment with the President and framing the move as reservation for Muslims. He asserts, "Don’t try to stop us in the name of Muslims." The minister also briefly addresses allegations of evictions in Karimnagar and denies interest in an ongoing phone tapping investigation.
