The Fire Director General revealed that the building, constructed in 1989, did not require a fire NOC. Inadequate fire equipment was found on-site, and no fire audits or safety checks were conducted. The company, Sagacity Industries Limited, had 143 workers present during the incident. Authorities claim that proper records were destroyed in the blast, complicating the investigation. A case has been registered, and a 1 crore ex-gratia has been announced for the victims.
