Telangana Factory Blast Live: 40 Killed, Many Injured As Fire Rages In Chemical Plant | India Today
The deadly fire at Sigachi Pharma chemical factory in Sangha Reddy has claimed 36 lives and exposed critical safety lapses. The factory operated without a fire NOC and no official safety audit was conducted. Fire DG Nagi Reddy admitted the factory did not fall under Section 13 of the Fire Act, meaning no fire department permission was required. The building, dating back to 1989, lacked proper fire safety records. Rescue operations are ongoing, with 143 people reported present during the blast, of which only 58 have been identified. The Chief Minister has announced compensation for victims’ families and ordered a probe into the incident.
