At the Tata Hackathon AI Summit held at Bharat Mandapam, Srishti from the Tata Group detailed the impact of the ‘Women Empowerment Program’, formerly known as BRIDGE-IT. The initiative has trained over 750 women from marginalized areas, including Alwar, Rajasthan, to provide essential digital services in their villages. Srishti stated, ‘The most important point is just not one woman who is getting empowered… it’s the whole village and allied villages also, adjacent villages that are getting impacted.’ These women, now operating as digital entrepreneurs, facilitate access to government services such as Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, and pension distributions. Participants shared how technology and AI are simplifying their workflows, allowing them to solve technical issues instantly via photo uploads. The program not only increases household income but also establishes a sense of pride and identity for women within their communities, bridging the digital divide in rural India.
