In dramatic and significant developments, total infighting has broken out within the Tata Group. As is being understood, two groups have emerged– one led by Noel Tata, and the other by 4 trustees. The main points of difference have emerged to be on technical issues of corporate governance and listing matters of the company.
On Tuesday night Union Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah met top officials of the Tata Group including Noel Tata at his residence. It has been learnt that Chandrasekaran accompanied Noel Tata and Tata Trusts Vice Chairman Venu Srinivasan and trustee Darius Khambata were also present at the meeting.
The Tata Group is among the largest taxpayers in the country, having operations in crucial and wide-spanned sectors across Corporate India. From Air India to Tata Salt to Tata Motors to Titan and Starbucks– the Tata Groups investments go beyond key infrastructural projects and into the domain of impacting every Indian. It is therefore seen to be of national interest that stability continues to prevail in the Tata Group.
