Ekta Modak, a North Indian artist who practices and teaches Tanjore painting, is helping preserve this traditional art. She said she has been doing Tanjore painting for 20 years. She learned it in Tanjore from local artists who taught her this traditional craft. Over the years, she has held exhibitions, workshops, and classes to share this art with many people. Her aim is to promote Tanjore painting and inspire new artists.
