The AIADMK has intensified its criticism of the DMK-Congress alliance in Tamil Nadu, mocking what it describes as a growing ideological rift. The opposition party highlighted that Congress has raised concerns over the DMK’s ₹5000 crore pre-election announcement and its stance on national issues, including the suspension of MPs. While the AIADMK claims these tensions indicate a failing partnership, the Chief Minister has maintained that the alliance remains firm. Internal reports suggest a ‘tug of war’ over the seat-sharing formula, with Congress forming a committee led by Girish Chodankar to initiate talks. However, the DMK has reportedly bypassed traditional channels, sending Deputy General Secretary Kanimozhi to negotiate directly with Rahul Gandhi in Delhi. The DMK has officially announced that formal seat-sharing discussions will commence on 22nd February, following a strategy similar to previous elections where negotiations began only after poll dates were finalized. The Chief Minister continues to rule out any power-sharing agreement in the state.
