In a significant political development ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram has dismissed the electoral prospects of actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Speaking on New Year’s Day, Chidambaram stated that while TVK may have a support base, it remains ‘not election tested’. He affirmed that the DMK-Congress alliance is strong and will emerge victorious.
