The probe will also examine alleged procedural lapses by the event organisers. Meanwhile, the TVK has maintained the incident was a conspiracy, with Vijay stating that ‘it was the DMK government and the police department that has failed in its responsibilities’. The party claims it was deliberately denied a larger venue. The CBI aims to fix accountability for the tragedy, investigating whether it was a systemic failure or if there was political meddling involved.
