An incident has emerged from Tamil Nadu where a 20-year-old disabled boy was allegedly sexually assaulted by the personal assistant of a sitting DMK MLA. The survivor stated he was offered 10,000 rupees to withdraw his complaint and was repeatedly threatened. He revealed he experienced "severe mental agony for nearly a week after the assault and admitted that he even thought of ending his life." Following the allegations, two accused have been taken into police custody until September 22nd as the investigation, which includes reviewing CCTV footage, continues. The matter has also caused a political reaction, with the AIADMK and BJP commenting on the issue.
