In a sharp attack on the Tamil Nadu government, Governor R.N. Ravi has accused Chief Minister M.K. Stalin of blocking the Karthigai Deepam lighting ritual in Thiruparankundram. Speaking at a recent event, the Governor alleged a ‘clear breach’ of the Madras High Court’s order permitting the ritual. He stated, ‘The state puts all its might to prevent it,’ claiming such defiance of the judiciary is unprecedented in the country’s 75-year history. Governor Ravi also highlighted the alleged intimidation of Justice G.R. Swaminathan, citing an impeachment motion moved against the judge for his ruling on the issue.
