Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin released the DMK’s election manifesto, titled ‘Dravidian Model 2.0’, at the party headquarters in Chennai. The manifesto launch was preceded by social media teasers asking ‘Tamil Nadu, are you ready?’ and featured a presentation-style briefing by Stalin. The DMK claims to have fulfilled 95 per cent of promises made in 2021, including schemes providing 1,000 rupees for women and three free bus rides for women. However, promises such as abolishing NEET and reducing government debt remain unfulfilled, with the party blaming central government hurdles. The opposition AIADMK disputes the DMK’s claim, alleging far fewer promises were delivered. AIADMK chief Edappadi Palaniswami criticised the DMK government over law and order, citing 6,999 POCSO cases registered. The Congress and other alliance partners will release separate manifestos, but the DMK manifesto is considered crucial as the lead party in Tamil Nadu.
