Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin filed his nomination from the Kolhathur constituency, expressing confidence in a massive victory for the DMK with a greater margin. Stalin initiated his campaign immediately after filing nominations, meeting supporters at the location. Meanwhile, actor-turned-politician Vijay filed his nomination for the first time to contest as an MLA from the Perambur constituency, accompanied by key party leaders including N Manan and CT Nirmal Kumar. Vijay is contesting from a DMK stronghold in Chennai’s northern area, where the DMK won by over 55,000 votes in the last election and swept all seven assembly seats. Both leaders filed their nominations on the same day, marking a significant electoral battle in Tamil Nadu. Stalin used the same red Jeep with the rising sun symbol from his 2021 campaign for canvassing in Kolhathur, which has narrow streets. Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and other ministers are also expected to file their nominations subsequently.
