Taiwan’s coast guard said it had responded to four Chinese coast guard ships that were sailing off the Taiwanese-controlled island of Kinmen.
The four Chinese coast guard ships crossed into Taiwan’s restricted waters between 6am and 7am, officials said.
The ships attempted to draw close to the islands of the Kinmen archipelago from four different spots.
In response, Taiwan’s Coast guard sent four of its ships to intercept the vessels.
