Veteran cricketer Suresh Raina is being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Onex bet app case. The line of questioning, accessed by India Today, focuses on his role in endorsing or promoting the betting application and his awareness of its classification as an illegal gambling operation under Indian laws. The ED is investigating whether he was informed about the usage of surrogate names or QR codes to redirect users to illegal betting sites. According to the Enforcement Directorate, Suresh Raina promoted this app and received money for it. Under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, any person who is beneficiary of proceeds of crime, which in layman languages, the ill-gotten money has gone to the person, then that person becomes suspect in the case.
