The Supreme Court on Tuesday said that it will on August 12 and 13 hear a batch of pleas challenging the Election Commission of India’s move to conduct Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in poll-bound Bihar. On petitioners’ apprehension that persons omitted from Draft List after its publication on August 1, Supreme Court said, “We are overviewing the thing as a judicial authority. If there is mass exclusion, we will immediately step in.”
