Supreme Court To Hear Plea Against CEC Appointment, Rahul Gandhi Submits Dissent Note | India Today

The Supreme Court of India will hear a plea against the appointment of Gyanesh Kumar as the new Chief Election Commissioner. The plea argues that the government breached a Supreme Court order by appointing election commissioners despite a pending case. The 2023 law, which replaced the Chief Justice of India with a Union Minister in the selection committee, is being challenged. Rahul Gandhi has submitted a dissent note against the appointment, calling it disrespectful. The court’s decision on this matter is awaited.
