The Supreme Court has dictated an order on the Waqf Act, stating that no non-Muslims will be appointed to Waqf boards or councils until the next hearing. The Solicitor General assured the court that Waqf properties, including those by user, will not be denotified. The Centre has been given 7 days to file its reply, and only five main petitions will be considered for hearing. The court noted the government’s assurances on maintaining the status quo of Waqf properties.
