The Supreme Court has cancelled the bail of six TMC workers involved in a 2021 post-poll violence case in West Bengal. The court termed the TMC attack on BJP supporters as ‘anti-democratic’ and criticized the state government for lawlessness. The case involves allegations of arson and attempted rape in Birbhum district. The court has ordered the accused to surrender within two weeks and directed the trial court to conclude proceedings within six months.
