Amid mounting pressure, the Karnataka government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe allegations concerning the alleged burial of hundreds of bodies in Dharmasthala over the past two decades.
The decision follows a letter from the Karnataka State Commission for Women, referencing a court testimony in which a man alleged that he was forced to dispose of multiple murder victims’ bodies during his time as a sanitation worker with the Dharmasthala temple administration between 1995 and 2014.
