India is considering reducing tariffs on 55% of US imports worth $23 billion to counter Trump’s reciprocal tariffs set to take effect on April 2nd. The potential cuts could impact goods currently subject to 5-30% tariffs. US Assistant Trade Representative Brendan Lynch is in India for talks with Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal. The estimated impact of reciprocal tariffs on India could be a 6-10% increase on items comprising half of its exports to America, affecting $66 billion worth of goods. Delhi’s budget of 1 lakh crore rupees allocates 5100 crores for the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, providing ₹2500 per month to women. 500 crore rupees is set aside for sewage treatment plants along the Yamuna. The budget also focuses on healthcare with 1000 crore rupees allocated to upgrade 24 hospitals.
