Super Six: Marathon WAQF Debate On Waqf Amendment Bill Underway In Lok Sabha | Amit Shah LS Speech

The Lok Sabha is engaged in a marathon debate on the Waqf Amendment Bill. Congress MP K.C. Venugopal claims the bill targets Muslims and could lead to other minorities being targeted. The NDA has spoken in one voice backing the bill. The debate has been extended to 8 PM, after which voting will take place. The bill aims to reform the Waqf Act, addressing issues of arbitrary land acquisition by Waqf Boards. The government defended the Waqf Properties Bill in Parliament amid opposition concerns. The Home Minister refuted allegations of anti-minority bias, stating the bill aims to bring transparency and protect Waqf properties. He cited support from various Catholic organizations and said the bill would safeguard lands belonging to archaeological sites, tribal areas, and private citizens. The minister accused the opposition of misleading minorities for vote bank politics.
