A Rs 978 crore green energy loan meant for purchasing 6,400 EVs for BlueSmart was diverted, with only 4,704 vehicles acquired. The remaining funds were allegedly used for personal expenses including luxury real estate, travel, and high-end goods. The investigation revealed circular fund flows between related entities, raising questions about BlueSmart’s future and India’s EV push.
