Sunita Williams To Stay Stuck In Space Till February Next Year; NASA Picks SpaceX For Rescue
NASA has postponed the return of two astronauts from the International Space Station due to safety concerns with Boeing’s new Starliner capsule. What was supposed to be a weeklong mission has now stretched into over eight months. After a series of thruster failures and helium leaks, NASA decided it’s too risky to bring the astronauts home in the Starliner. Instead, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams will return to Earth aboard a SpaceX spacecraft in February, while their empty Starliner will attempt an autopilot landing in September.
