India has won its ninth Asia Cup title, defeating Pakistan in a tense final in Dubai. The victory was a close encounter, with India stumbling to 20 for 3 during the chase before a composed, unbeaten 69 from Tilak Verma guided them home. Speaking on the match, Sunil Gavaskar said the most important part was beating Pakistan three times in the tournament. Gavaskar also credited the Indian bowlers for the overall victory, stating, "this tournament has been won by our bowlers more than anything else." The match also saw a significant batting collapse from Pakistan, who, after a strong start, lost their last 9 wickets for just 33 runs. India’s fielding was also praised as being ‘top-notch’.
