Following Storm Eowyn’s record-breaking wind speeds, a frigid blast known to European meteorologists as Storm Herminia is hitting areas of the United Kingdom, prompting weather warnings to be extended until Tuesday.
Following significant disruption and damage to rail networks caused by gusts of up to 100 mph, Saturday’s travel nightmare continued with the cancellation of flights, trains, and ferries. 150,000 travelers were impacted, and at least 1,070 flights were cancelled.
