Stalin Unveils DMK Manifesto: ₹2,000 For Women, Free Laptops, Breakfast Scheme Expansion

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin released the DMK’s manifesto for the 17th Assembly elections, promising a ‘Dravidian Model 2.0’ governance. Key announcements include expanding the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme to 15 lakh students up to Class 8, increasing the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 per woman, and providing free electricity to 20 lakh households along with free pump sets for farmers. The manifesto promises 10 lakh new houses, increased elderly pension to ₹2,000, and disabled pension to ₹2,500. The Pudhumai Penn scheme amount will rise to ₹1,500 monthly. Stalin announced that 35 lakh higher education students will receive free laptops within five years, and 1.5 lakh government vacancies will be filled promptly. Other promises include increased procurement prices for sugarcane and milk, ₹5 lakh bank loans without collateral for Self Help Group women entrepreneurs, doubled dialysis equipment in government hospitals, and the Naan Mudhalvan scheme offering six-month training with ₹1,100 monthly assistance to five lakh unemployed youth. Stalin credited his sister Kanimozhi and the manifesto committee for preparing the document after consulting people across Tamil Nadu.
